A marine gastropod of the warm coastal seas; the drug is its shell; native range: the warm coastal seas of the Indian subcontinent, where the conches are gathered. Globally recognized as sankhanabhi in Sanskrit, and small conch, conch operculum in English. The part used is the shell (read as a small conch, or as the calcareous operculum of one). A small, hard, heavy calcareous piece, white to pale fawn and smooth or faintly whorled, without taste or odour.
