Zhejiang fritillaria (Fritillaria thunbergii), of the Liliaceae family. Lowland perennial of cultivated fields; native range: eastern China, chiefly Zhejiang. Globally recognized as zhe bei mu (浙贝母) in Chinese. The part used is bulb. Large pale bulb scales, markedly bitter, dry and clearing in taste.
